FAQs
How do I get started?
Getting started is easy! Reach out by phone, email, or through our website contact form to schedule a complimentary consultation. We'll take time to discuss your concerns, answer your questions, and determine whether a comprehensive evaluation is the best next step for your child.
If an evaluation is recommended, we'll guide you through the intake process and schedule your child's first appointment.
How do I know if my child would benefit from speech or feeding services?
Do you accept insurance?
Nurtured Roots Pediatric Therapy is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. However, we are happy to provide a detailed superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Because every insurance plan is different, we encourage families to contact their insurance provider to learn more about their out-of-network speech-language pathology benefits before beginning services.
We also accept HSA and FSA cards for eligible services.
My child already receives speech therapy at school. Can they also receive private therapy?
Absolutely! Many children benefit from both school-based and private therapy because each serves a different purpose.
School-based speech therapy focuses on helping a child access and participate in their educational environment, while private therapy can address a broader range of communication and feeding goals that impact daily life at home and in the community.
With your permission, we're happy to collaborate with your child's teachers, school speech-language pathologist, pediatrician, occupational therapist, or other members of their care team to provide coordinated, family-centered care.
What ages do you work with and where are services provided?
Nurtured Roots serves children preschool and elementary ages, providing individualized speech, language, and feeding therapy.
We believe children learn best in the environments where they naturally play, communicate, and interact. Services may be provided in:
Your home
Community settings such as libraries, parks, or playgrounds
Daycare or preschool (when appropriate and with permission)
Together, we'll determine the setting that best supports your child's goals and your family's need
If you've noticed concerns about your child's communication, speech clarity, language development, or feeding skills—or if concerns have been shared by your pediatrician, teacher, or another trusted professional—an evaluation is a great place to start.
Our comprehensive evaluations combine caregiver interviews, play-based observation, standardized assessments, and clinical expertise to gain a complete understanding of your child's strengths and areas of need.
Following the evaluation, we'll review the results together and discuss individualized recommendations, including whether therapy is appropriate and what a treatment plan may look like.
